This photo—“Hard to Say Goodbye”—by WestportNow contributing photographer Helen Klisser During won a top prize in the Society of Professional Journalists Excellence in Connecticut Journalism 2010 contest whose winners were announced Thursday night. She also took second prize for a news photo in the online media category for another photo (”Faces on the School Bus”) of Westport school children returning to classes last fall. In all, WestportNow received five awards in the statewide competition. The others went to Lynn U. Miller, honorable mention in the News Photo Online Media category (’A Tribute To Daddy”), to a contributing photographer, honorable mention in the Feature Photo Online Media category (”Did You See a Circus Parade Go By?”), and James Lomuscio, honorable mention, Spot News Online Media category (”Never Forgetting”).
